Accredited as a specialist in Family Law by The Law Society of Scotland, Gillian has been described by Chambers & Partners as, “absolutely brilliant, excellent with clients and tenacious; technically skilled at navigating the complexities which arise from cross-border matters and maintains a pragmatic approach.” She has significant experience in complex and high value cases involving professionals, entrepreneurs, farmers, land and estate owners and those in the public sector, who require a highly proactive approach to sensitive and private matters. Gillian has an interest in offering a more collaborative dispute resolution method and is an interdisciplinary collaborative practitioner, a trained mediator and a family law Arbitrator. She is also a dual qualified solicitor in Scotland, in England and Wales, and is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and she regularly works on cross border and international cases, and those in relation to asset protection, including pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements and cohabitation, disputes regarding children, and in respect of jurisdiction for financial claims. Gillian is a member of Resolution in England, a member and past secretary of Family Law Arbitration Group Scotland (FLAGs), founder member and past secretary of Consensus and a fellow of International Academy of Family Lawyers.
